From Forest to Forever

Custom Epoxy River Tables & Live Edge Furniture Built to Last Generations

Introduction

Log to Table transforms raw Oklahoma timber into one-of-a-kind furniture pieces that become the heart of your home. Specializing in custom epoxy river tables, live edge furniture, and handcrafted cutting boards, we create heirloom-quality pieces that celebrate the natural beauty of wood while incorporating modern design elements.

Every table begins with selecting the perfect slab—character-rich with natural edges, unique grain patterns, and the marks of time. Through a collaborative design process, we work with you to envision exactly how that raw piece of timber will become the gathering place for your family's meals, celebrations, and everyday moments.

This isn't mass-produced furniture. These are investment pieces built with commercial-grade materials, expert craftsmanship, and a commitment to creating furniture that appreciates in value—both financially and sentimentally—as the years pass.

OUR STORY

Log to Table started with a single question: why do we accept that furniture is disposable?

Growing up, the tables I remember weren't perfect. They had scratches from homework, burns from hot dishes placed carelessly, stains from decades of family dinners. But they were beautiful because they carried stories. They were solid, real, and built to outlast trends.

Today's furniture market has lost that connection. Particle board masquerading as wood. Tables that wobble after a year. Surfaces that can't handle actual use. When I started working with wood—really learning to understand grain direction, structural integrity, and how different species age—I realized I wanted to build the opposite of all that.

Each Log to Table piece starts in the forest, often from trees that have lived for decades or even centuries. Sometimes it's a fallen oak from a local property. Sometimes it's black walnut salvaged from a tree service. These aren't warehouse materials shipped from overseas—they're local timber with stories already attached.

The epoxy resin we pour through natural voids and cracks does more than fill space—it creates a river of color and light that highlights the organic beauty of the wood. Deep blues reminiscent of Oklahoma lakes. Metallic silvers that catch light like moving water. Bold colors that make a statement in modern spaces.

But beyond aesthetics, these tables are built structurally sound. Commercial-grade epoxy that won't yellow or crack. Professional-grade finishes that handle hot dishes, cold glasses, and daily use. Bases engineered for stability and longevity.

This is furniture built the way it used to be built: to last.

WHAT WE CREATE

Epoxy River Tables - Our Signature Pieces

Coffee Tables ($1,800-$3,200)
The centerpiece of your living room. Perfect for gathering around during game nights, displaying books and décor, or simply as a conversation starter that guests can't stop photographing. Available in 36"-48" lengths.

Console Tables ($2,500-$4,000)
Elegant entryway statements or living room accents. These longer, narrower pieces (48"-60") work beautifully behind sofas, in hallways, or as sophisticated alternatives to traditional TV stands.

Dining Tables ($4,500-$8,500)
Where families gather, celebrations happen, and memories are made. Our dining tables (6'-10' lengths) are built to handle everything from weeknight dinners to Thanksgiving feasts, and they're designed to become the backdrop for decades of photos.

Custom Projects (Quote-based)
Desks, conference tables, kitchen islands, vanities—if you can envision it, we can build it. Every custom project begins with a conversation about your space, your vision, and how the piece will be used.

The River Table Design Process

1. Discovery Consultation (Week 1)
We start with questions: How will you use this table? What's your style—modern, rustic, industrial? What colors resonate with you? What's your space like? This isn't a sales pitch—it's a collaborative design conversation.

2. Slab Selection (Week 2)
Based on our conversation, I'll present 2-3 slab options with different grain patterns, sizes, and characteristics. We'll discuss the natural features of each—knots, burls, spalting, live edges—and how they'll work with your vision.

3. Design Mockup (Week 2-3)
You'll receive digital mockups showing your selected slab with different epoxy colors, edge treatments, and base options. We'll refine until it's exactly right—this is your table, and it needs to be perfect.

4. Production (Weeks 4-10)
This is where the magic happens. Slab preparation, mold building, epoxy pours (often multiple layers for depth), curing, sanding, base construction, and final finishing. I'll send progress photos so you're part of the journey.

5. Delivery & Installation (Week 11-12)
For local deliveries (within 50 miles of Broken Arrow), I personally deliver and place your table. For distant deliveries, we coordinate freight shipping with full insurance and detailed unpacking instructions.

Live Edge Furniture & Cutting Boards

Beyond river tables, we create:

Live Edge Shelves & Benches ($400-$1,500)
Floating shelves that preserve the natural edge of the tree. Benches that serve as both seating and art. Pieces that bring organic warmth to modern spaces.

Custom Cutting Boards ($85-$295)
Edge-grain and end-grain boards in various sizes and wood species. These aren't delicate serving boards—they're workhorse cutting boards built for serious cooks who appreciate quality tools.

Desk Tops & Workspaces ($600-$2,000)
Live edge desk tops that inspire creativity. Custom dimensions to fit your exact space. Options for integrated cable management and mounting hardware.

WHY LOG TO TABLE (200 words)

One-of-a-Kind by Nature
No two pieces of wood are identical. The grain pattern in your table exists nowhere else on earth. The natural edges, the spalting, the way the epoxy flows through the voids—your table is genuinely unique.

Built to Last Generations
We use 2"-3" thick slabs for structural integrity. Commercial-grade epoxy designed for furniture applications. Professional finishes that protect against heat, moisture, and UV damage. Bases engineered by professionals who understand load distribution.

Transparent Process
You'll know exactly what you're getting—the wood species, the epoxy brand, the finish type, the base construction. No hidden costs, no surprises. We provide detailed quotes that break down materials and labor.

Collaborative Design
This isn't ordering from a catalog. It's a partnership. We'll spend as much time as needed in the design phase to ensure the final piece exceeds your expectations.

Oklahoma-Based Craftsmanship
Many of our slabs come from local trees—Oklahoma oak, walnut, pecan. When you buy from Log to Table, you're supporting local forestry, local craftsmanship, and keeping money in the Oklahoma economy.

Investment Quality
Custom hardwood furniture appreciates in value. Unlike mass-produced pieces that lose value the moment you buy them, well-crafted epoxy tables often increase in value over time, especially as the tree species becomes scarcer.

MATERIALS & QUALITY STANDARDS

Wood Selection

We primarily work with:

  • Black Walnut: Rich, dark, chocolate tones with dramatic grain
  • White Oak: Light, durable, classic American hardwood
  • Live Edge Slabs: Preserved natural edges, 2"-4" thickness
  • Locally Sourced: Many slabs from Oklahoma trees when available

Epoxy Resin

We use TotalBoat and Stone Coat Countertops—professional-grade epoxies designed specifically for furniture applications. These aren't craft-store resins. They're formulated to:

  • Resist yellowing from UV exposure
  • Handle temperature changes without cracking
  • Maintain clarity for decades
  • Bond permanently to wood

Finishing

Multiple coats of commercial-grade polyurethane or epoxy topcoat, depending on desired look and durability requirements. Our finishes protect against:

  • Hot dishes and cold condensation
  • Daily wear and tear
  • Minor scratches (and can be refinished if needed)
  • Water damage and staining

Base Options

  • Metal Hairpin Legs: Mid-century modern aesthetic, various heights and finishes
  • Custom Steel Bases: Powder-coated steel in various designs

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Daily Care

Your table is built to handle daily life—hot coffee mugs, dinner plates, homework sessions, work-from-home setups. The finish protects against normal use.

  • Cleaning: Wipe with damp cloth and mild soap as needed
  • Spills: Clean immediately (like any quality furniture)
  • Coasters: Recommended but not critical—finish is heat-resistant
  • Placemats: Optional—finish handles normal dining use

Long-Term Maintenance

  • Annual Cleaning: Deep clean with wood-safe cleaner once yearly
  • Refinishing: Every 10-15 years if desired (we can do this, or any woodworker can)
  • Minor Repairs: Small scratches can be buffed out or touched up

Your table will develop character over time—slight darkening of the wood, patina from oil in hands, the smooth depression where you always rest your laptop. This is not damage; it's the story of a well-loved piece.
